What is an Envirocloth? Being a Norwex Consultant, I get this question all of the time! If I had to choose my favorite product from Norwex, the Envirocloth would have my vote! This one cloth has replaced all the chemical cleaners in my home. Doesn't hurt that it has saved my wallet in the process.

Let's be real for one minute, does anyone really enjoy the act of cleaning? Enjoy having a clean home, yes, but actually wake up in the morning and say, "you know what, today I am going to take some me time and clean." If you are one of those people, more power to you! I am not one of those people. Shocker, right, wait, don't I sell cleaning products? Trust me, I see a mess, I clean it up, but I definitely would prefer to do other things.

The Envirocloth is the one cleaning tool you need to safely and effectively clean your home. It is made of microfiber that mechanically cleans. Wait, let's start from the beginning. Did you know there were other ways to clean, other than using those awful chemical cleaners? The three main ways to clean are as follows.

Chemically

Chemically cleaning is using a chemical, typically a spray, powder, or liquid. The problem with these chemical cleaners, besides eww gross chemicals, the user has to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS on the back of the bottle to effectively clean. I am going to wait a moment because sometimes that is a hard pill to swallow. Yes, I am telling you that chemical cleaners have directions. If those directions are not followed, the "kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses" label is just as useful as toilet paper. Oh, look, a helpful tip, run out of toilet paper, use labels. Y'all seriously, don't do that! How many of you can honestly say you have ever read the back of a chemical cleaner? If you haven't, I can almost guarantee you are not using those disinfecting wipes as directed. So what does that mean to you? Your surfaces are not as clean as you think it is! You have this false sense of security because how difficult is it to use a wipe? Right? Chemically cleaning is placing a chemical on a surface, then said chemical "kills" what it comes in contact with. Can you imagine your kitchen counter being a cemetery for all of those germs that were crawling on your surface? Pretty gross, right? Give me the creeps.

Thermally

To thermally clean is to use heat. Think of steam cleaning your carpets. The heat kills the germs that are on the surface. This is usually done by a professional and can be super expensive. We do use thermal cleaning with other forms of cleaning. Think, for instance, using hot water in your washing machine. The heat can help break down dirt and grime that are on your clothes. So even though we use thermally cleaning more than you realize, it still needs an extra boost.

Mechanically

Now here is where the magic happens. This is Norwex. Mechanically cleaning is physically removing unwanteds from the surface. You mechanically clean all of the time. You pick up items and place them where they belong. Ah-ha, mechanically clean! Now, if we think microscopic, let's talk about bacteria. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to mechanically clean the surfaces in your home to remove bacteria, not just kill it and leave it remains behind? Yes, yes it is, and it's called the Envirocloth! The Envirocloth is made of microfiber. Now not the average microfiber that you can buy at the local department store. This microfiber is superior. To be considered a microfiber, the fiber needs to be 1/6 split of human hair. "Normal" department store microfiber is "microfiber," but the quality is subpar. The Envirocloth is 1/200th split of a human hair! WOW! That means that the cloth is so dense with fibers that it has the ability to pick-up and REMOVE 99% of bacteria from a surface with ONLY using WATER! There is actually so much fiber in one of Norwex's Envirocloth. If you were to unravel the cloth and stretch it out, it would stretch from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico!! So Norwex uses technology that mechanically picks germs and bacteria from your surface and removes it. That my friends are mechanically cleaning at it's finest!

So back to the Envirocloth. This one cloth is a mechanical cleaner. It can be used on every surface in your home, your countertops, windows, tables, toilets, tubs, showers, floors, sidings, toys, carpets, chairs, and the list go on and on and on. If the cloth is used dry, it makes a great duster. If you dampen the cloth with water, just water, you a clean with it. Can we sit for one minute and think about all the chemical cleaners you would not have to purchase anyone, just from buying this one cloth? No more disinfecting wipes, all-purpose cleaners, bathroom cleaners, glass cleaners, floor cleaners, furniture polish, carpet cleaners, and so on and so on. The average household spends about $600 a year on cleaning products. Imagine what you can do with all of that extra money.

Not only saving money, but this cloth lowers your health risk by eliminating chemicals in your home. Many chemical cleaners have been linked to health issues, respiratory illness, mental disorders, birth defects, even cancers, just to name a few. If we can eliminate these chemical products from the household, we could help save people. Not only speaking of our own health concerns, but too many children are rushed to the ER every year from accidental poisonings, the two major contributors, and personal care products and cleaning products. Imagine if we could eliminate chemicals from our households, that could be one less child at potential risk to ingest chemicals. Even one child who accidentally swallows chemicals is one child too many. It can happen to anyone. My own child may or may not, we are not sure, possibly took an antibiotic pill that wasn't hers. Thankfully she was ok, and thankfully it was an antibiotic that she could have been prescribed herself. She was only 2 at the time, and still, it was a scary situation for all. Well, maybe not for her. She got to have a trip to a "new place" (the hospital), and everyone kept trying to give her apple juice and snacks. For the adults, it was scary. I know that every parent stresses over their children, but I know that with Norwex, it is one less thing I have to worry about. Saves on my mental health too!

So this one cloth, really, can clean more effectively, save you money, and potentially save your health, but it also helps protect our environment. By eliminating chemical cleaners, we are slowly but surely improving our environment one cloth at a time. Every time someone cleans with an Envirocloth is one less chemical being introduced into our water system. It's one less paper towel that is being used to wipe up a mess. It's one less plastic bottle that ends up in our oceans. By cleaning your home with the Envirocloth, it not only protects your home, but you are doing a small part to help save this planet. One small change, when made by millions, can make a huge difference. We only have this planet. Let's treat it right.

How do we use the product? It's simple. I already mentioned that you can use it dry to dust, and you can use it wet with just water to clean. So let's say you have a mess on your kitchen counter. You can grab your Envirocloth, wet it with warm water, wring it out, fold the cloth then wipe the surface. Make sure the Envirocloth is flat on the surface. You want those microfibers to come in contact with your surface. When done, rinse the cloth with warm water and hang to dry.

Our Baclock Technology will then go to work and self-purify the cloth! Wait WHAT!!! Baclock??? Yes! Another added perk to Norwex is our Baclock Technology. Baclock is a sliver agent that is embedded into the fibers of the cloth. This sliver again inhibits growth from bacterial odor, mold, and mildew growth within the cloth itself. So this means that you can rinse and reuse the cloth multiple times before you need to launder it! How awesome is that? Talk about saving money on your energy bill.

With these cloths, you must take care of your cloth. This means DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, wash your cloths with bleach, fabric softeners, or dry with dryer sheets. The chemicals in those products will coat the fibers of the cloth and inhibit the cloth from working properly. Really you shouldn't use these products at all, check out my post about laundry room products here.

So y'all, the cloths are not hard to use, and when you use them, the overall benefit is life-changing! When you are ready to switch from chemical cleaning to mechanically cleaning, don't hesitate to order your Envirocloth from here!
