Do you or someone you know use fabric softener or dryer sheets? Did you know that dryer sheets are the second most toxic item that is in your home right now?

For generations, we have put fabric softener in our laundry to soften clothes. Hence why it is called fabric softener. Many think "my water is hard" or "I don't like my clothes being stiff." I get it. I get it, but did you know you can still get soft clothes without the use of these harmful chemicals?
If you have not read my post about laundry detergent, do yourself a favor and go see it here. Just like in laundry detergent, fabric softeners and dryer sheets contain chemicals. Have you ever wondered how they work? Fabric softener is a chemical liquid that is added to
your washing machine. The chemicals coat your clothes to make them softer and "smell good." Dryer sheets go into your dryer. The fabric sheets are coated with chemicals that are released into your dryer from the heat that help reduce static and reduces wrinkles while making your clothes softer.
Both products coat your clothes with chemicals. These chemicals get soaked into your bloodstream through your skin then go to all of your vital organs. Do you suffer from sensitive skin or headaches? Your body is soaking up chemicals that are not there naturally. Your body is telling you something is wrong.
Need a visual, here is how chemicals that we put on our skin enter into our bodies.

Common chemicals that are in fabric softeners and dryer sheets include benzyl acetate, benzyl alcohol, ethanol, chloroform, and others. These chemicals have been linked to cancers, respiratory illness, headaches, skin conditions, and even CNS disorders.
It is mind-blowing that companies that we know and trust are using these chemicals to make products that we assume are good for us. There is no warning label on the back of the bottle saying this product may cause cancer, but there should be.
Furthermore, these chemicals get trapped in our dryers and build up over time. Our dryers are a health hazard within itself. Some chemicals get released into the environment through the dryer vent. By using these products, your dryer is literally putting toxic fumes into the air that you and your neighbors breathe.
Did you know there is a better way? Your clothes can be soft, less wrinkly, and smell clean without the use of these toxic chemicals! Norwex laundry detergent is so concentrated and is not filled with additives that it cleans your clothes without adding chemicals. Your clothes will still come out soft and clean, even if you have hard water. Check out my blog post about that here.

What if you have hard water? That is fine! I have solutions for you! First, if your water is extremely hard, consider putting the Magnet Ball in your washer as you wash your clothes. The magnet ball prevents calcium buildup. This will make the water "softer" then you can use less detergent! The Magnet Ball is only for top-loading washers.
To cut down on drying time, soften your clothes, and reduce wrinkles, try the Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls! They are not like the wool dryer balls that you get at your local store. These are 100% New Zealand wool! For all of you animal lovers out there, these are animal cruelty-FREE!!!
The balls tumble your clothes while in the dryer, therefore, cutting down drying time, saving your time, money, and energy! Think you will miss that "laundry smell" add a few drops of essential oils to the balls five to ten minutes before the drying cycle ends to get a natural clean smell! We use lavender, but lemon is a good one too! The best part about these balls, they last a LONG time, recommend for 1000 loads but known to last longer.
How do you use these awesome balls? Trust me, it is a process that takes a long time to master. NOT! The balls come in a pack of three, I add all three balls to my dryer with my wet clothes, and these little guys do their magic! You can add as many balls as you like.
What if you are allergic to wool? I have another solution for you! You can still dry your clothes and get the same softness and reduce drying time and wrinkles. Norwex also has Dryer Balls that are made of high-grade PVC plastic. They still do the same job, just without the wool.

With Norwex Laundry Detergent and Dryer Balls, you can replace your toxic laundry detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. You can reduce exposure to toxic chemicals and improve the quality of life. So may your homes be filled with love and laughter, and not toxins and chemicals.
