Welcome to OUR love story. I hope by sharing my own experiences, that maybe...just maybe, someone else can find comfort in knowing, someone has been there. I hope that I can help others, by being open and honest. So let's get started...
I met my Husband when I was in high school. When I met Josh, I fell hard. How can there be a person in this world that is so intriguing? Josh was in the Marine's when we first met (Shout out to all of our men and women who fight for our Country...you guys ROCK!!!). He was stationed in North Carolina while I lived in Maryland. He only would come home on the weekends, and being a teenager, my parents were not going to allow their "little girl" go out with a "military boy".
So just like any determined love-sick teenager, I would sneak out of my parents house at night to see him (sorry mom and dad). We would talk on the phone for hours and hours at a time, there is where I truly believe we got to know each other's souls.
Even though we never had an "official" label of "boyfriend/girlfriend", we had such great communication and foundation of a friendship. I will be the first to admit, I fell in love with Josh first. It took he a little longer, but when he did, we both jumped feet first into this life together.
My parents only knew of him, they never met him, until one day at barely 18 years old, I went to my parents and told them "I am getting married". Looking back, and now as a parent myself, I can almost feel my parent's fears. Thankfully, my parents raised me to trust my gut and although they weren't happy about it, my parents blindly supported me and drove me to North Carolina, to marry a boy that they have never met. If that is not unconditional love at it's finest, I don't know what is right?
They met him at a cheap hotel lobby for the first time, then the next day they stood next to me in a courthouse and watched their little girl become a wife. Trust me...NO ONE thought that this was going to last, except for Josh and I. But almost 12 years later, here we are with 2 beautiful children, 2 dogs, and we are so madly and deeply in love.

Love is such a crazy thing. I am a full believer in Love. Love is so much more powerful than any other emotion. Love can conquer the world, but love is tricky. Love is messy. Love is confusing. Love is blinding. When you meet your soul mate for the first time, in your soul, you just know. May it be that you haven't been dating for years, or you only have met a little while ago. I am a firm believer that when souls meet, Your soul knows, before you know. So even though Josh and I's story is not "exactly" traditional, it is OURS and I love it!
